Application for hostel/b&b for the homeless on Denehurst Gardens

There is currently a planning application from the owner of no. 9 Denehurst Gardens for a B&B/hostel for the homeless.  Understandably this is causing much concern amongst local residents.  Please log on to the planning portal for Ealing Council on http://www.pam.ealing.gov.uk/portal/servlets/ApplicationSearchServletto view the application in full.  Not all residents have been notified of this proposed hostel, so please submit your comments/objections to:- planning@ealing.gov.uk.  Comments to be received by Wednesday, 18th January 2012.Many thanks for your help in advance.

Astronomy Expert needed

Is there an astronomy expert out there, I am doing the astronomy badge with my cub scouts, have a small telescope and a handy app on the phone, but if anybody out there is willing to come to visit my cubs on a Wednesday evening, that would be brill, I am at the moment trying to buiuld a solar system with balloons and sticky back tape but stuggling.

Bulge Classes for Reception Sep 2012

I know there is a catholic primary opening in Sep and I know that Berrymead is taking an extra 30 pupils.  Does anybody know whether any Acton primary schools are taking a bulge class in reception in Sep 2012?I am particualrly interested in finding out about Southfields or St Vincents.  Has anybody heard? I have seen nothing on the web.

Was in here yesterday for my regular cut & colour. They are currently doing a January discount - 15% off all salon services excluding retail products - I think that means 15% off the normal service but not if you want to buy extra items.  Anyway great experience as always, even better when it costs less!  Kevin does a lovely little head massage too as part of the service.

Recycling bags!

I know this sounds a bit petty but someone has made off with our bright blue paper recycling bag! It is made of sturdy shiny plastic with 55 written all over it and has the recycling logo on it and the word paper! It is about the same size as a large ordinary plastic bag. If anyone catches sight of it please let me know!

Scary callers at the door !

On Friday night we had a knock in the door around 745pm. It was a guy collecting for some kind of unemployment group or alike.My 70 year mother in law nervously explained we were out and to come back another time. His response was to verbally abuse her with horrible language in an extremely aggressive manner. She was scared by this. Don't mind genuine appeals on the door but this sounds wrong and she felt threatened. Luckily she didn't open both doors. She thinks he would have become forceful. Watch out people and always try to get the name of the appeal. If we had got it I would have complained to them and the police.Anyone else had this experience?

Printer problem, help appreciated

The paper feeder mechanism on my Epson Stylus Photo printer is malfunctioning.It's not a fault covered by the manual - it seems to be mechanical.Can anyone recommend a company/individual who could hopefully fix this?  The companies in the directory don't have recommendations yet. Thanks.
