Hi there, can anyone recommend me a good, reliable and trustworthy cleaner who can come to my flat in Acton one day/wk? Though there might be someone on this forum who already uses one and knows they might have some bandwidth to do some additional hours close by. If someone can pass on details that would be much appreciated.

Independent management agent needed

I have a couple of properties in Ealing and I'm looking for a small and trustworthy company who can manage these properties while I'm out of the country.The estate agents who offer this service charge something like 8% (!) and don't do much more than collect quotes for work that needs doing.I'm looking for someone who has a bit more of a clue, who can get the job done and knows good suppliers. I have seen people like this in their vans going to DIY shops, but didn't write down any details...Does anyone have any recommendations please?

shared house or flat

i have a very nice young man staying with me at the moment; However he is keen to move into a shared flat or house, as one room and a microwave oven does not cut it!. does anyone out there need a new flat mate?  or know anyone that does. Please let me know.   He works as an electrician (handy)! and is studying at the local college one day a week.

Problems with BT server!

Has anybody else experienced problems with the BT server?Tried to get my contacts only to be informed that I have no contacts and, then as if by magic they appeared after 10 minutes, only to disappear again.  I contacted BT Broadband, to be told it was the server and,would be fixed within 24 hrs.  Still can't get my contacts.

Prisoners to get landline telephones in cells.

I have just heard that a pilot scheme is to go on trial by giving prisoners phones in their cells, in an effort to stamp out illegal mobile phones.Is this pampering, or making the life of prison officers easier.  The most likely place to trial this, is at HMP Isis young offenders institution in south London.What next: prisoners demanding to be let out, so that they can get back in?If this scheme goes ahead, will the process be monitored, will it create more criminal activity behind bars, aid escapes, run businesses and/or place orders for drugs?Is this rewarding bad behaviour?

Is the closing of Acton Pool premature?

1) Is the rebuilding of the pool dependent on a commercial partner?2) Has the council signed with a commercial/private sector partner to assist with the financing of this development?3) Who is the commercial partner?4) Who will apply for planning permission LBE or the private sector partner?Have the plans been finalised?5) Who applies for planning permission LBE or the commercial partner?6) When will planning permission be submitted?7) I, with many others are concerned that the ‘wreckers’ will go in and the site will stand empty for a considerable time before any building work commences.  Can the council confirm that the rebuild will begin immediately after demolition?8) We have been told that Wilmott Dixon will prepare the site for demolition, how long will this take? 9) Will demolition follow on straight away? How long will the demolition take? LBE let down Acton residents when it gave the Bromyard Avenue Pool to Virgin Active, having promised local residents that as part of the agreement, they would get preferential rates when the pool was handed over, when Virgin reneged on this agreement LBE refused to confront Virgin.  This could have been because the legal agreement was properly drawn out, the agreement wasn’t there in the first place or LBE just couldn’t be bothered to look after their electorate. Following on from this debacle I really don’t have much faith in LBE.So could the lead officer and lead elected member for this development put their hands up so we can direct our questions to someone who can give us factual answers and not platitudes.Whilst accepting and understanding why the Pool needs to be replaced, it should be done with as little ‘down time’ as possible.  Not having a local pool is going to make swimming very difficult and for some people impossible, please LBE for once listen to your electorate and do not close the pool until you have firm date for the rebuild to commence and then work back from there.

At last!It appears he has been away.Anyway, he says:"The good news is that we hope to reconsult the area to the west side of Horn Lane in the coming weeks.  I would therefore urge you to respond to this consultation and encourage those you know to do so too so we can get conclusive feedback with a relatively high response rate."Just wanted to pass that on.Lets be ready for the consultation when it comes, which won't be a moment too soon.The current parking situation is dire.I've stopped going out in the evening because I can't keep calling my husband to leave the house to come and walk me home.
