Residents be aware - Burglaries on the rise on the ward

Dear Acton Central residents; Burglaries are on the rise on the ward. We have been averaging 10 in a month period for the last 6 months but have already hit 10 so far this month. The majority have occurred whereby offender/s have gained access to the rear of properties and forced open windows and doors using tools and/or body pressure (i.e. kicking). Please be vigilant, secure your property, log all high value items onto immobilise.com, consider improving security be it locks, alarms or lighting. If you would like advice or a free home security survey please contact me (if you live in the Acton central ward) or your local safer neighbourhood’s team. We as a team are increasing our patrols in the effected areas with a view to deter and detect offences. Kind regards

What is wrong with this site?

It takes for ever to open a page, comes up with errors, says I have logged out and is generally hopeless. - technically not editorially. It's jolly nice to have our own editor again. But he deserves better than this clapped out software.

Beware Scam Letters!!!

Please be on your guard for scam letters in the post! My husband received one today supposed to be from someone called Seddon Wuang and he was going on about some long lost rich relation who had passed away, you know the sort of thing!He just wanted the bank details and of course my husband is going to be a beneficiary so they could split the money!!!This letter is now in the hands of the Police and I hope that anyone in receipt of such letters does likewise.Don't be conned by these crooks! Some forum members on the Ealing website have also received similar letters.

Alternative uses for St Albans church

Not long now.  We're almost there with a Community Centre in Chiswick (North).  We just have to stop the planning application to convert St Albans church into residential flats and a house.  Otherwise the Church of England legacy will be turned into a Developers profit.  The Planning Committee meets on Wednesday the 9th November.  Please join us in the Public Gallery of Ealing Town Hall at 7 o'clock.  The site visit is due 05 November at 11:00.  Here's an opportunity to see inside the splendour of St Albans church.So what alternative use can we put our community centre?We have some ideas under the following headings.  Please respond to tell us with your requirements under the following headings.TheatreCinemaYouth provisionEducation (eg. school, nursery, Language, Music) eg. Man With(out) A Van

We are moving house in the next 10 days or so and need a little help moving some furniture.The good news is that we are only moving some 20 metres over the road. So, I am looking for a man with a van to help. We don't need his van but if he can bring a couple of strong friends with him in it then that would be most useful.:)So, in short - can anyone recommend a couple of guys to move some furniture for us? Half term holiday project

This is the 15th year Descendants is running the annual cultural week of dance.  The week is run in partnership with the Jiving Lindy hoppers, YSB,Dynasty dance group and OC Drums.  This project will be on Monday 24th-friday 28th October 10a.m-3p.m -Priory Community CentreCost:-£20.00 for the week or £5.00 per day.Children age 7-16The children will need packed lunch, and will need to wear loose clothing for the sessions.There will be a performace at the end of the week.  This year is special as we will be paying tribute to Terry from the Jiving Lindy Hoppers who passed away in June of this year, and was one of the founders of the week of dance.
