St. Mary's Church. The Mount. Broken drainage pipe. URGENT ! !

I first noticed this a couple of weeks ago, and it's definitely worse now.The drain pipe fixing has broken away from the wall.Could someone please ensure that whoever is responsible for the church maintenance attends to this, before it's too late.  It is potentially dangerous.

Lavellie's staff attitude

Just wanted a coffee and a cake but the  staff could not be bothered ! No dishwasher so they only served in paper cup ! When I told him he could wash by hand he told me " I suppose so " starting to make it while moaning in front of the coffee machineNot his job apparently  I told him not too bother and I will take my custom somewhere else ! Someone told me that this guy was rather rude but now I believe it !!! Shame about some staff Well now having a crepe and a coffee at Creperie poets corner !!

Who do I speak to about making changes to road signage?

Hoping someone can help here.I live on Berrymead Gardens, which is meant to be a one way street.We get about several people per day turning off the high st and going the wrong way down the street.Most people don't know they are doing it (although that doesn't stop them from abusing people who point it out to them, however politely).There needs to be a change to the signage and maybe a bollard or barrier put up to make left hand turns (off the high st into Berrymead) more difficult.I am guessing it is someone at the council, but does anyone have a specific person, email or phone number I can use?Many thanks.

Trees

By any chance has anyone got any saplings they dont want? I've planted two trees and want a third to join my rowan and silver birch. I'd like them to be at least 2m high. Thanks!

Any gangs or anything suspicious....

Acton Police team called to give me a number to phone should we see any gangs of youths or anything suspicious following yesterday's tragedy.  I've said I'll put this number on the forum although our Police team may post here too, to confirm:Please call 020 8721 2921 if you are concerned or see something suspicious.  Obviously, if it's more urgent, the usual 999 number would be better, I'm sure.

Ingrid Loyau-Kennett

What an incredible woman. Her bravery yesterday in confronting the two attackers in Woolwich was truly amazing and may well have prevented further acts of sheer animal brutality.There was a second woman who cradled the young soldier. I dont think I could have shown such bravery facing these 2 monsters.I do hope they get some form of public recognition for their deeds.

Make It Acton

I was looking at the EalingToday site and was curious about the new Make It Ealing campaign. It seems they have introduced a loyalty card (Make It Ealing) which is free to obtain and gives discounts or freebies at participating shops, bars and restaurants. With so many high streets around the UK dying it seems a great idea.How lovely. But what a shame they restrict it to Ealing. What about Acton? We are in the borough of Ealing but as with the Christmas lights we seem to be the poor relation. Acton is overlooked and unloved.Im sure there are many Acton shops and restaurants who would sign up for a similar scheme. But who is out there fighting for Acton on our behalf?

Welcome to Acton & Graffiti!

The nicely refurbished bridge at Acton Vale is a sorry sight now as vandals have covered each side of the bridge with graffiti!Last time this happened it took AGES to have the graffiti removed.I wonder why they didn't use anti-climb paint to stop this happening again?

I strolled along Churchfield Road this afternoon to find Tim installing his wonderful new cold display cabinets. Opening again tomorrow, he hopes to begin supplying hams and pies and other delicious things. it is a huge investment and I want to wish him all the best in this venture. Beware of Pickpockets - The Oaks in Acton

Beward when in 'The Oaks' if asked for directions or for change of a £20 note - just heard from a friend that whist one person distracts you the other person is stealing from you!I guess this is happening all over but just be aware to be on the safe side!

Pelican Crossing, PLEASE, for Acton Town Tube Station, Bollo Lane Entrance

I would really like to see the removal of the two zebra crossings (an island in the middle means they are separate crossings, not that many people seem to be aware of this) and the mass stampede in the morning and evening makes traffic build up so bad.  Surely a traffic light crossing would make traffic move faster and pedestrian crossing safer!  Any thoughts?

nevilles bakery

Hi, many years ago i drove for Nevilles bakery on Acton lane and am in the process of building a model of the lorry i used to drive. Could anyone remind me of the colour scheme I know the usual Sunblest colours were yellow& white, but i seem to recall Nevilles was red & white. Help please thanks. ex Ramsey resident. David

Local Plumber in Acton/Ealing W3

Hi I am looking for a local reliable plumber in Acton/Ealing who can fit a new shower unit as my shower is packing up.  I have a Triton Marbella and have purchased a Triton T80zi, but apparently the water inlet is now needs a bend in the water inlet pipe to connect it?  The shower 'should' cover the existing fittingThe existing shower unit is a Marbella 9.5kw to be replaced with the T80 also a 9.5kw therefore only the 'connecting' electrical work needs to be done.Any ideas/recommendations please folks.. (needs to be a fixed priced, registered and cheap!)ThanksMichael

Nocturnal skateboarders

Does anybody know where the group of young men live (18- to 22-year-olds I would guess), who seem to think it's OK to skateboard down - and then up - Goldsmith Avenue at extremely unsocial hours? They must come from the top end of the road, but I'm not sure where.It was 5.15, and then again at about 7.25, this morning (and yes, I know that most of us are awake by 7.25, but it's still EARLY!). And about two weeks ago, it was 3.00 and about 3.45 in the morning.Skateboards are noisy at the best of times - certainly more intrusive than most cars - and in the quiet of the night are particularly so. Add to that the raised voices of the boarders, and you have a guaranteed recipe for disturbed sleep.These young men need to be told that.I'm quite happy to do the telling, but I need to know where they live!

Found Lost Wallet - Thanks to Acton Park Cafe and also to kind lady who called me to inform this..

Hello All,I lost my wallet in the Acton Park Cafe and the lovely people at cafe kept it safe for me. I collected it yesterday. Big Thanks to those people and I'd recommend it highly for a good and relaxing time. The soup is really good there.I also just received a call from a kind lady about the same and I feel sorry that I did not even ask her name.
