It was in my diary for Saturday December 7th ...But I have heard nothing and no-one seems to be organising it.Anyone know different?

another fraud scam

This morning in my inbox a message claiming to be from Paypal saying that a recent transaction has been declined by my credit card and please can you send your bank details so that future payments can be made directly.... blahdibladiblah. Since all my recent purchases have been delivered and I was actually talking to someone at paypal 2 days before, it has got to be an attempt at procuring bank details by deceit.As ever be on your guard. The email was professional looking with logos and similar presentation to a paypal page.

Macushield

My husband was told at his recent eye test that he's showing some small signs of macular degeneration. A friend suggested this product as being of help. Has anyone tried it over any length of time and found it helpful?

Scary happenings in Acton this weekend

Terrorist escaping in burkas, from what was the Old British Legion in Church Road, 3 people stabbed, 1 fatally in Gorst Road, I hope it was only the halloween influence,I hope this changes next week, I prefer the quiet, normal humdrum weeks that we enjoy in Acton

Great night at The Aeronaut

Went there last night. Good dinner and great entertainment and would definitely encourage others to check it out! We're really looking forward to taking friends there. If it does well it'll be great for Acton. :-)

ENERGY THERAPY TOMORROW

Energy Therapists will be at the London Buddhist Vihara, The Avenue, W4 1UD on Monday, 11th November, between 11am and 1pm (last session 12.45).  This cold weather takes a lot of our energy so do come and get a top up!  The actual session takes about 15-20 minutes and I am sure that you will feel really good at the end of that time.  A number of therapists come in each month and give their services free.  However, the Vihara allows us to use the hall at no charge so a donation is most welcome  -  all donations are given to the Vihara.These sessions are not related to any religion, everyone is welcome.

I have just read the article in this month's Around Ealing on Albert Auerbach who was killed on 01 September 1918 and was awarded a posthumous Military Cross.It makes you feel quite humble with everything that we complain about in this modern world.

Goldsmith Avenue have had their third 'playing out' session today and it was a great success. I'd love to help with something for Cumberland Road, but grown up children I am not eligible. Isn't there a parent in the road who would like to organise? It only needs four families. Goldsmith Avenue parents will help. C'mon the lads! I'll make the scones.

Acton Arms is now - The Aeronaut

I happened to visit the Aeronaut's sister pub on Saturday: The Dissenting Academy.Nice place - decor was a bit more grown up than the fit out that the Acton Arms had.Wasn't there long so i don't know if they do food, but i did notice that they had a regular film night.Looks like they are trying to recreate this focus on 'events' in Acton.I'm looking forward to seeing the building back in use i must say.

New French Restaurant in Acton

I was with my husband tonight in Thai Nice and having a table by the window we were able to watch the world go by. I noticed there was some activity across the road at the old Cinnamon restaurant which has been closed for a long long time.  A new sign had gone up. It seems it will be a French restaurant. Later I checked the window and it announced 'opening soon' and 'three course meal for £9.95'. A welcome addition to Acton. I cant wait to try it.

BEWARE OF FOXTONS

According to Foxtons moving into a flat where, amongst other things, a plug socket is hanging off the wall, the oven does not work, and the shower does not drain leaving you standing in scummy dirty water is acceptable. They refuse to even provide an apology. Unbelievable. Not an isolated case from what we hear so please add any of your recent experiences to this post.

HELP WITH COMPUTER

I desperately need to restore my Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 which I may have inadvertently deleted. It's gone anyway. All that's left is a shortcut.I have download a restore files program. It seems jolly nice but the problem is that I would not know what the files are, or are called, to restore them. Can anybody help please?
